So, I take it you’ve picked out your promotional product for your company’s advertising campaign? Custom coffee mugs is a good choice. They are one of the most sought out custom products on Google Search. But, you have to know how to decorate them and find out which is the best design for your custom coffee mug.

Go Big

One of my suggestions would be to go big or bigger. And utilize as much of the imprint area as you possibly can. A stacked logo would be the ideal design for a custom coffee mug over a linear logo. But then again that all depends on what you’re going for in your advertising campaign. A linear logo might just get your point across and be the look that you’re going for. So don’t dismiss it just yet.

Here’s is an example of what I’m talking about when making the logo bigger. Try to utilize the majority of the imprint area on the mug. If you don’t know the imprint area you can always ask your promotional product supplier.

And below is an example of a linear vs a stacked logo for your custom coffee mug. As you can see the stacked version of this logo looks much better, easier to see, and easier to read. This is why large imprint areas are ideal for promotional products.

Get to the Point

Get your message across right away. A one-word design might not do it. You might have to go a little further than that. Like on this Instagram post by @twinklefarts.me. Which gets their message across straight away and uses up most of the imprint area on the mug for a stunning print.

Use Both Sides

Remember there’s more than one side to a coffee mug. If you can’t get your message across on one side, there’s always the other. Put your company logo on side one, and your company slogan on side two. That would be a great design for a custom coffee mug. Or you can always go with a full-wrap around the mug if that design option better suits your needs.

This would be an example of a full-wrap logo that I quickly put together to show you so you can see how it wraps around. There’s no distinguished side one logo and side two logo. The one logo is simply wrapped around the entire mug.

Whereas, here’s an example where you can see a side one logo and side two logo. Side one being the “love” logo and side two being the (paw print).

Finding the perfect design for your custom coffee mug really needs a lot of thought behind it. You could always hire a graphic designer to come of with different logo styles for your custom mugs. All in all, your design has to look sharp and your message to the point.
